Bergeon 2229-03 Escapement Tester. Apparatus allowing a very precise adjustment of pallets-stones length. Characteristics: - Allows the adjustment of all pallets listed. - Pallets gripping by spring lever. - Lifting-adjustment by knurled knob. - Pallet's support plate, in stainless steel, with 2 centrings allowing to adapt the Ø of the pallet-staff. - Dial with hands with graduation at 0.01 mm. - Contact zone in synthetic material resistant to high temperatures 150°C. - Working temperature ~130°C. Dimensions: 45 x 90 x 27 mm.

Instructions for use : Place the escapement-tester on the BERGEON electric heater No 30460 or 30460-VAR  and bring it to a temperature of about 130°C. Release banking (5) by moving lever (1), press the watch-pallets holder (2), place in position, upside down, the watch-pallets (3). Then release banking (5) by moving lever (1). Set adjustable stop (4) by turning knurled knob (6) until the pointer is opposite a given figure, which will be taken as the standard (x). When this figure has been noted, the stop adjustment (4) is not changed, except when a different calibre is tested. It is sufficient to move the palletstone backward or forward until it is brought to the standard measurement (x). The same procedure applies when adjusting the entry pallet, which is placed in the hole of the upper pivot guard. Change of plate: Unscrew the knurled knob (6) to standstill the adjustment stop. Unscrew the stepped screw (7). Adjustment stop on the outside (4) pivoting. Unscrew the two fitting screws (8) of the plate. Release the plate by pressing the lever (2). Take out the plate (9).   This is a Special Order item and will take around 6 weeks to arrive from Bergeon.
